Master Lu’s talk at Guanyin Hall – Talking again about “The Transformation of the Five Aggregates” 2018-06-24

Only when people are observing from within, their hearts are very quiet, and they can understand the slightest movement outside, because only when you are inside can you see the outside; because you understand in your heart, you can know what is happening outside. Many people only know what crime they have committed after they are arrested. Only when the home is very quiet can you hear any noise outside, and see the heart instead of focusing on all the external things. This is when you see the deep scene. Therefore, to learn to be a bodhisattva is to use wisdom to see everything in the world, to learn to be a bodhisattva is to use your inner Buddha nature to see all the external phenomena of this world. Once you use your inner mind to observe, you will find that the outside world is empty and illusory, because there is nothing you can take away, nothing is yours, everything is fake. The money you earn is not yours in the end, and all the wealth you keep is not yours, everything is empty.
Wisdom comes from the heart. When you look at things with wisdom, you will absorb the wisdom consciousness, which is called knowledge, and infuse it into your nature, which is conscience and good roots. Use the compassion of the Bodhisattva to irrigate your own nature frequently, so that the good thoughts in your heart will increase every day, sprout and grow fast. When I was a child, I helped my mother do a good thing. My mother said, “You are so good. You helped my mother. Good boy.” I was very happy. Tomorrow I helped my mother do things again, doing this and that. You should let the seeds of kindness sprout every day and grow bigger and bigger.
Learn to transform your deep consciousness. Many people’s marriages fail. The transformation of deep consciousness is: ① “Both parties are responsible anyway. This is fate. I will do my best. If I can’t do it well, I can’t do anything about it.” Continue to transform your deep consciousness; ② Don’t make yourself too sad, and don’t make others too sad. This is a kind of wisdom transformation. Quickly forget about this matter. No one mentions it. You let wisdom sprout and grow wisdom. Many people say “You are getting smarter”, which means wisdom is growing faster and faster.
Don’t approach the five aggregates of form, feeling, perception, volition and consciousness as a transformation. If you see something nice today and say, “I won’t look at it. I know it’s nice. I want to look at it, but I won’t look at it.” This is not called transformation. It will hurt your heart. If you feel extremely painful today and say, “I won’t feel pain, I won’t feel pain…” you start crying while talking. Can you not feel pain? You haven’t reached a higher level. “I won’t think about it, I won’t think about it, I won’t think about it.” You are still thinking. Many people kneel before the Bodhisattva and say, “I don’t want to think about bad things.” But then, they just pop out. They can’t control it. If people can control it, they will succeed. It’s just like many people cook. Master says, “Don’t cook it too salty.” They say, “Okay, okay, put less salt.” They just put a little bit of salt and then grab another handful of salt. They are used to it and can’t control it. It’s not that easy to change their mindset.
We must learn to transform, not rely on the five aggregates, but rely on the depth of our own consciousness to transform, to solve human problems. As long as we do not rely on the five aggregates to think, our personal aura will change. Why do some people say “you have a good temperament”, because they do not worry about small things and can think open-mindedly. How does temperament come from? Temperament is the ability to keep calm. People should have spirit, energy and spirit, and they will be different if they have temperament. If you always get stuck in small things, your temperament will become narrower and narrower, and become very bad. You cannot get angry often.
If you are a Buddhist, you need to cultivate until the Buddha will appear in your heart. The six thieves are empty and the five aggregates are self-evident. As long as you drive out the six thieves, you will not feel the fragrance of this thing; it does not matter if this thing looks good; “I tell you…” do not listen. – The six thieves are empty, and the five aggregates of your own inner thoughts are empty. Feeling, thinking, action and consciousness are like a mirror that can see the shape. Just like a mirror can see what is in your heart, the mirror will show what it sees today. When the mirror reflects the dirty things in the world, dirty things will appear in your heart; when the mirror reflects the good things in your heart, good things will appear in your heart, so it is called seeing the five aggregates.
Master has been talking about these things of consciousness for a long time. He is using the Heart Sutra to enlighten you. In modern terms, it is interpretation. Master not only asks you to recite Little Houses every day, but also wants you to be able to explain these profound principles when you go out to save people. If you tell these theories to the Dharma Master, the Dharma Master will immediately look at you with new eyes and put their hands together in front of you.
