Buddha had a disciple named Ananda. Buddha and Ananda were walking on the road. Suddenly they saw a pot of gold on the road. Buddha said to Ananda that it was a “poisonous snake”. Ananda said immediately, “Yes, Buddha, it is a “poisonous snake”. The two walked over without even looking at it. Not far away, a farmer’s father and son came. They walked over and suddenly saw the pot. When they opened it, they found it was gold. They were so happy that they took the gold home and happily took out a few ingots of gold to buy things in the market. However, the gold in the past was all engraved with marks. In fact, the pot of gold was stolen from the royal family by a thief and was put on the side of the road when he was chased by the royal family. They were illiterate farmers. They took the gold to the market to buy things, but they were caught and taken to the government. When they were tied up and were about to be beheaded, they said, “Now we know why Buddha said that the pot of gold was a “poisonous snake”. If there is hatred, a kind of toxin will grow in the heart. Therefore, people with a bad mentality for a long time will slowly develop serious diseases.
Therefore, people who are often unhappy will definitely get sick.
