Question: A fellow practitioner has dreamed of Buddha several times. In one dream, Buddha gave him two paths, one was the golden path, and the other was the path of green mountains and clear waters. He chose the path of green mountains and clear waters. In another dream, Buddha was under a bodhi tree, asking him to help more people. In another dream, Buddha, Jesus, and an unknown bodhisattva appeared in front of him. He is very confused now. Master, please tell him which path he should take?
Answer: The road of green mountains and clear waters means that he is cultivating blessings in the human and heavenly realms. He will be reborn as a human in the next life because green mountains and clear waters belong to the human world. The golden road is in the sky, and the ground of the Western Paradise is paved with gold.
Q: He dreamed last week that Master told him to continue meditating and said that he would be guaranteed to see what he wanted to see in November.
A: I said that? Then I will tell him not to meditate now, because meditation can easily lead to deviation.
Question: A fellow practitioner is going to have a baby this year and wants to name him “xx艺”, but she feels that the simplified Chinese character “艺” looks like a knife. Is it okay if it is in traditional Chinese?
A: Not good either. It is best not to use the character “藝” (art). It has a crooked shape. This person has a crooked heart and will never tell the truth to his parents. How many artists don’t brag? On stage, they teach you to lie and make up things. The traditional Chinese characters are the same. They don’t sound good.
Q: Do we usually look at the traditional or simplified Chinese characters when choosing names?
Answer: If the local language is traditional Chinese, use traditional Chinese. If the local language is simplified Chinese, use simplified Chinese.
Question: A fellow practitioner’s grandfather wants to make a three-generation family tree, but most of the people in the tree are still alive. Will his grandfather’s actions have any impact on the living people?
Answer: It shouldn’t have a big impact, but it’s always not good. It’s never good to put living people and dead people together.
Question: A fellow practitioner suddenly started snoring at the age of 29 and has been snoring heavily ever since. I would like to know what scriptures he should recite to help him get better?
Answer: The reason for snoring is very simple. Just eat less and don’t sleep too deeply. Secondly, people who are too fat have overnutrition and fat deposits, which lead to a big belly and they snore because they don’t have enough energy to exhale through their noses. It’s like a room full of air and a chimney can’t bear the air coming out, so they have to open their mouths. But opening their mouths is not enough because air keeps rushing into their nostrils, which causes them to snore. That’s why people with big bellies snore.
Question: Does this have anything to do with karma and spirituality?
Answer: It doesn’t matter. Does a person who snore mean he is spiritual?
Question: A fellow practitioner recited 200 Little Houses, but the red dots were too small at the beginning. He wants to know if he should add more red dots now…
Answer: More than 200 Little Houses have been burned, what’s the point of burning more? Don’t burn more. Just make the red dots bigger when you recite Little Houses next time.
Question: He kept the little house for himself and it hasn’t been burned yet.
Answer: You need to make up for it.
Question: If I want to make up for the past mistakes, can I recite the scriptures on the new Little Houses while making up for the past mistakes?
A: No. You can recite the Great Compassion Mantra or the Heart Sutra while you are making up the points. You can recite either. For example, if you recite the Great Compassion Mantra 27 times on a small house, you can recite the Great Compassion Mantra while making up the points. After reciting it once, you have completed all 27 times; recite the Heart Sutra once, and you have completed all 21 times.
Question: Fellow practitioner B had a dream in which she saw friends coming to her home, and she and her husband doted on their son. But in reality, she did not have a son, only a daughter. Later in the dream, she walked into her room and saw a large man’s head in the middle of two large beds. No matter how she turned, she could not get rid of it, so she lay there unable to move.
Answer: The spirit is already in her body. It is very powerful. Hurry up and recite the Little Houses for the aborted child. In this case, the spirit has already taken over her body. Recite 49 Little Houses.
Question: I dreamed that it was winter and everyone was wearing cotton-padded jackets, but only one colleague was wearing a short-sleeved top and a long summer skirt, and she was wearing shoes without stockings. What does this mean?
Answer: This colleague is not a good person. He is of the Yin element and will definitely have troubles in real life.
Question: A fellow practitioner saw incense burning in an incense burner in his dreams twice in a row, but he only saw the incense and not the Bodhisattva statue. What does this mean?
Answer: If you see the burning incense but don’t see the Bodhisattva statue, then it is in vain and the Bodhisattva has not come. You should be able to see the Bodhisattva in your dream, that is correct.
Question: A fellow practitioner dreamed that he was going to burn a small house, but the wind was very strong and there was no place to burn it. Then the ashes from the burnt small house were blown everywhere, and he also saw that the ashes from the small house seemed to turn into burnt corn cobs. What does this mean?
A: The Little Houses are still useful. Just be careful when burning them and recite sutras. People like him should recite the Great Compassion Mantra.
